Jupiter’s Pizza in Downtown Champaign is one of our favorite places for a treat!

We kicked things off with Cheese Bread and added Tomatoes, plus a couple of crisp draft beers—the perfect start to read over a menu. 🧀🍅🍺

This time around, we tried the Special K and Salmon pizzas. Yes, they might sound a bit unusual, but they are flavorful and fantastic!

Special K Pizza: A delightful blend of cream sauce, mozzarella, provolone, sausage, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, oregano, and basil.

Salmon Pizza: Crafted with cream sauce, mozzarella, provolone, smoked salmon, spinach, and dill for a fresh, savory experience.

Jupiter’s is always buzzing with the great music accompanied by the energetic crack of billiards from the pool area, there’s never a dull moment. It’s a great place to be if you’re looking for good vibes and fantastic food in Champaign.

When the craving for something cheesy and delicious strikes, we often head to Maize Mexican Grill! Just had another amazing visit for our favorite snack – the Queso Fundido with Steak. 🥩✨

It’s served sizzling hot in a cast iron skillet with steaming-hot tortillas on the side. We pair each tortilla with a different house-made salsa from their Salsa Flight, which adds a different kick to each bite! 🌶️🔥

This time, we enjoyed cold Modelo on draft, though their Margaritas are always a refreshing choice as well. 🍹🍻

After-Work at The Axe Bar: Beers, Bites, and ‘The Hatchet’!

We had an amazing evening at The Axe Bar in Downtown Champaign tonight! 🍻🎯

While we didn’t dive into axe throwing this time, the vibe was just perfect for catching up with friends over beers and appetizers.

We also tried “The Hatchet,” their signature house cocktail, and it was a refreshing blend of sweet flavors – I’m guessing there was a hint of blackberry? Whatever it was, it’s a must-try!

Can’t wait to go back and maybe even give axe throwing a go next time.

Esquire Lounge truly outdid themselves with their special 2024 Mardi Gras menu, and our experience was nothing short of FANTASTIC!

From the moment we stepped in, the vibrant live music perfectly set the stage for a memorable Mardi Gras celebration. We dived into our standard Fried Mushrooms along with a special Shrimp Po’boy Basket and Creole Pizza—each dish bursting with flavor and masterfully crafted to highlight the essence of the holiday.

The cocktails, a Hurricane and a Rum Runner, complemented our meal beautifully. Esquire’s dedication to creating a unique dining experience during holidays and special events is evident, and their combination of delicious food, special cocktails, and an unbeatable atmosphere made our Mardi Gras celebration incredibly enjoyable.

It’s clear why Esquire Lounge is a cornerstone of fun in Champaign, offering not just great pub food but an unforgettable experience!

Conveniently located around the corner from The Cadillac event venue sits the family-run Arcade Cafe. It makes absolutely DELICIOUS sandwiches!

I don’t fully know why, but I am always intrigued by Tortilla Soup. When my coup of soup arrived I fully intended to wait and dip my Roast Beef Sandwich in it. However, my FANTASTIC Tortilla Soup did not last until the sandwiches arrived.

Café at the Champaign Public Library

Nestled just inside the entryway of the Champaign Public Library you can find a delightfully simple café!

For years my go-to café beverage has been a regular Mocha.

Inspiration took hold of me this particular morning, and I asked if they would add Caramel to my favorite coffee treat. The AMAZING Caramel-Mocha they made for me made my entire day and will regularly lure me back in there on my way to work.
